You can decide how to get notifications and emails from Instacart or you can opt out of them altogether.
In-app—
- Tap the Account icon in the upper right corner.
- Tap Settings.
- Select Notifications under App settings.
- Select which notifications you want to get.
On the website—
- Click the 3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner.
- Click Your account settings.
- Select Notification settings.
- Select which notifications you want to get.
SMS marketing
If you’re in the United States, you can opt in or out of SMS marketing updates during checkout.
To opt in during checkout, add your phone number and select the checkbox next to Text me about deals and promotions.
You can also reply to SMS marketing texts with STOP to opt out or go to your notification settings and toggle off Text messages under Marketing updates.

Email marketing
To change your email subscription settings, toggle on/off Email notifications on the website.
Please note—you’ll still get order confirmation emails even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails.
If you’re not getting emails from Instacart, please check your “Spam” or “Junk” folders.
Marketing push notifications
You must opt in to marketing push notifications by toggling on Push notifications. You can also add a promotion code to your account.

Order notifications
We automatically send text notifications to your mobile device so you know the status of your order every step of the way. Your shopper might also call the number you provide to let you know about order changes and delivery. The caller ID shows as “Instacart” for some customers.
To get text notifications about your order, toggle on Text messages under Order updates.
Please note—if you turn off all notifications for order updates, you won’t get any alerts about the status of your order, including replacements and refunds.
